Laurel “Wayne” Riggs
Funeral Time: Monday, November 20th at 1:30PM Laurel “Wayne” Riggs, 76, of Lexington, Kentucky passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on July 17, 1947, in Avon, Kentucky to the late Owen and Lillian Riggs. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After serving his country he was a dedicated self-employed carpenter until his retirement. He was also an avid fisherman and a member of Bryan Station Road Baptist Church. Wayne loved his family most of all, he cherished every moment he had with them. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Wayne was preceded in death by the love of his life Mrs. Patricia Ann Riggs on August 21, 2018; his parents; and one brother, Clifford Riggs. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tiffany Dawn Bolender (John) and Kimberly Ann Riggs; grandchildren, Justin Bolender, William Alexander Wethington III, Cameron Wayne Riggs, Ava Grace Ward, Colton Ryan Ward, Addison Paige Ward, Audrey Gail Bolender, and Cayson Nicholas Bettiga; great-grandchildren, Otis Bolender, Hawkeye Bolender, Zachary Wethington, and Colton Wethington; brothers and sisters, Kathleen Hamm, Ruby Moore, Kennith Riggs, and Judy Quire; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday, November 20, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, Kentucky 40356, with Bro. Brent Spears presiding. Interment will follow the service. Visitation will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main Street on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Wayne’s name are suggested to Honor Flight, Military Missions, V.A. Fisher House, or your charity of choice. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507 is in care of all arrangements for Laurel “Wayne” Riggs.
