Mr. Willie Floyd Cook II
Funeral Time: Tuesday, March 21st at 2:00PM Willie Floyd Cook II, of Lexington Kentucky, passed away on March 13, 2023 peacefully and in the comforting presence of his family. Willie was born on November 7th, 1943 to Sally B. Hawkins and Willie Floyd Cook I, in Georgetown Kentucky. After he graduated from Georgetown high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy where he was stationed in Morocco and served four years. After his military service ended Willie started his 30 year career at Bell South/AT&T where he retired as a supervisor in 1995. In 2009, Willie was introduced to Lynn Murray through a mutual friend. The two were married the following year and began on an adventure that would span across the United States, landing them a vacation home and several dear friends in Largo Florida, and brought together two wonderful households who would share memories and moments for the next 13 years. Their hobbies together included traveling and taking their families on vacations, eating out and trying new restaurants, and spending time with their grandbabies. Willie was predeceased by his wife Sarah Cook, brother Ronald “Ronnie” Wayne Cook, father Willie and mother Sally Cook. He is survived by his wife Lynn Cook, sons Craig and Shawn Cook (Shana), and daughter Beth Brockman (Steven); stepchildren Andrea, Michael (Meilee) and Steven Murray (Bhel); grandchildren Lauren Walker, Abigail Brockman, Drew and Devin Cook; Josh Brockman and Ashely Walters, Brianna, Jazmine, William and Landon Murray and 12 great grandchildren. Services will be held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. on March 21st at 2pm. Visitation hours will be 5-7pm Monday and 12:30pm till the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to UK Markey Cancer Foundation, an organization Willie and his family felt strongly about.
