Mrs. Geraldine May Florreich
Funeral Time: Saturday, March 18th at 4:00PM Geraldine May Florreich (nee Dilley) (1941 – 2023), 81, of Versailles died on Monday, March 13thth at home, after a lingering illness. Gerry graduated from Upper Iowa University when she began a music teaching career in several towns in Iowa. Upon her marriage to Edward Florreich, she moved to Lexington, KY where she raised two daughters, and had a long career as a beloved preschool teacher, until her retirement in Versailles. Gerry was active in Chapel Hill Presbyterian and Second Presbyterian Churches, especially in the choirs, where she continued to enjoy her love of singing. She also was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and activities, hardly missing a game or competition, even if only attending virtually. She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Florreich (Dwight), Pawtucket, RI and Jennifer Springate (David), Versailles, KY; five grandchildren, Cooper, Cara, Kane Springate, and Drew, Alex Ernest; one brother, Max Dilley (Sheila) and niece Claire Thompson (Joey). She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Florreich, and parents William and Ruth Dilley. Visitation will be from 2-4pm Saturday March 18, followed immediately by a service at 4pm, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd.
