Mr. David Francis Mangione

Mr. David Francis Mangione, 87, widower of Mrs. Viola Jean Collins Mangione, passed away Sunday, January 22 in Lexington, KY. Born March 11, 1935 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Gus and Grace Hoskins Mangione. David was a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean War. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He loved to play billiards, attend the Senior Citizens Center and work part-time at the Lakeside Golf Course, which he enjoyed for 12 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Mark (Megan) Mangione and Donna (Guy) Stockwell; his grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney) Mangione, T.J. (Betsy) Mangione, Ava Mangione, Brandon (Abbi) Stockwell and Brittany (Colton) Cary and great grandchildren, Parker, Collins, Zoey, Ephraim, Elizabel and Asher. Along with his wife and parents, David was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Curtis and a brother, Joseph Mangione. Funeral services for Mr. Mangione will be 10am Saturday, January 28 at Kerr Brothers-Harrodsburg Rd. with Minister Ronnie Hupp officiating. Burial will follow at The Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
