Jerry Lee Day
Funeral Time: Friday, September 30th at 12:30PM

Jerry Lee Day, 69, passed away peacefully, September 25, 2022, next to his loving wife of nearly 53 years, at their home in Nicholasville, KY. Jerry was born on March 30, 1953, in Garrard County, KY, and he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Lois (Peel) Day. He retired after 45 years working with his dear friends at Whayne Supply, in Lexington, KY. He proudly loved and adored being a multi-generational member of Buena Vista Baptist Church in Lancaster. Jerry is survived by his wife Jean Day, that he referred to as the love of his life. He was the beloved father of Jeanie (James), Sherrie (Jay), and Geri Nicole. Proud grandfather of Halee (Goce), Christian (Lauren), and Caitlyn. GREAT grandfather of Lincoln, Corabelle, and Weston. Brother of Frankie (Lynn), Donald (preceded in death, Wanda), and Ricky. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Last but not least, yorkie poo “Nellie”, his lap dog for the last 7 years. Jerry enjoyed his worldly travels with his wife, children and grandchildren making lifelong memories. He loved spending time with family and friends. His door was always open and he never met a stranger. If he remembered your birthday, you would receive a “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” serenade. For all that knew him, they loved him. He will be missed. The family would like to sincerely thank all of those who supported him during his miraculous 8-year-long battle with cancer. Just as baby Moses, he touched and blessed our little part of the world. And we take comfort in knowing; To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 If desired, donations in his name may be made to: By Check: Baptist Health Foundation Lexington, William G.
