Nicholasville, Kentucky – Ronald “Ron” Ray Griffee, age 74, husband of Teresa, passed from his earthly life on September 25, 2022, and into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Stuart Ray and Mildred (Cain) Griffee. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Teresa (Price) Griffee; his son, Alex (Molly) Griffee of Nicholasville, KY, son Adam Griffee of Atlanta, GA, daughter Amy (Tony) Gonzalez of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter Agatha (Robby) Allen of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren, Riley, Adelyn, Garrett, Gabriella, Tyler, Tim, Lydia, Ben, Brielle and Bryan; his sister Vivian Gentry of Bowling Green, KY; his aunt Edna Parr of Payneville, KY; his beloved dog Callie and many other family and friends.

Ron was a native of Brandenburg, Meade County, KY where he spent the first 32 years of his life. He graduated from Meade County High School where he was an active member of the band playing alto saxophone. He received a Bachelors of Business degree from Western Kentucky University. Ron was a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway DeMovellan Properties, Lexington, KY and had been a Realtor in Lexington for 41 years. He also taught real estate for many years for A Pass Weikel Real Estate Institute.

He loved to go on mission trips helping others and spreading the gospel of Jesus. His mission work consisted of going to Mexico (12 times), Kenya (3 times), Peru, and Russia. He also had a passion for helping others which included hurricane Katrina relief work and work for Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) in eastern Kentucky.

He grew up attending Buck Grove Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY. In 1983, he became a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church. Over the years, he was a choir member, youth Sunday school teacher, Trustee, church Moderator and Scholarship committee member. He loved working with youth and went on several youth mission trips and coached in the church basketball league.

His passion was working with people to help them buy and sell real estate. He didn’t look at it as a job, but as a calling from God to help others in need. He was well respected for his fairness and professionalism in the real estate community. He went above and beyond for many clients and in teaching and helping new agents.

He loved traveling, backpacking and hiking in his younger years and then later “glamping” with his wife and grandchildren. He said spending time in nature is where he felt closest to God. He was an avid UK basketball and football fan and spent many years attending the basketball games in person.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to Porter Memorial Baptist Church, 4300 Nicholasville Road, Lexington, KY 40515.
