Edward Franklin Pendleton, Jr.

Edward Franklin Pendleton Jr, 83 of Lexington, went to rejoice with Our Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 6th. He was born March 22,1939 in Lexington, a son of the late Edward Franklin Pendleton Sr and Marie Lake Pendleton. Edward was baptized at Maryland Avenue Christian Church. He attended University of Kentucky; graduated from Henry Clay High School where he played football. He also graduated Cum Laude from both Kentucky Christian College and Morehead State University. He successfully delivered two of his children, Tim and Debbie in a log cabin! Ed & Marty’s love of God influenced all his children to be baptized (4 of them by himself). He thoroughly loved his family, pets, camping, fishing, boating, hunting, root beer floats, Ale8-1’s & UK Basketball. He was such a loving husband, father and grandfather. His kindness was beyond measure. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for fixing absolutely everything. He worked as a Data Engineer at GTE/Verizon where he retired after 37 years. He enjoyed pastoring at several churches, including Stoney Creek Christian Church in Carlisle and Galilee Christian in Tollesboro. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife Martreshia Woolums Pendleton, and 5 children, Timothy Pendleton (Anita), Debbie Caldwell (Allen), Mark Pendleton (Karen), Stephanie Cook (Jeff), Natalie Pendleton, & sister Edith Thompson (Billy). He is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Pendleton.

Ed’s extensive family, which he considered God’s extra blessings, include 4 grandchildren, Nathaniel Pendleton (Kendra), Andrea Keuhne (Alex), Brandon Pendleton (Matt), Heather Perry (Clint), 1 great-granddaughter Marianna Leigh Pendleton, 6 step-grandchildren - Taryn, Olivia, CJ, & Hannah; Brooke & Matthew; 8 step-great-grandchildren - Summer, Lauryn, Lexi & Maisen; Mackenzie & Jack; Skylar and Penelope 1 step great-great-grandchild - Lyric; and several nieces and nephews.

Our lives will be dimmer without your laughter & guidance.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at The Lexington Cemetery.
