Funeral Time: Saturday, January 15th at 1:00PM
Mayme Northcutt, age 89 of Lexington, beloved wife of the late Harry Raymond Northcutt, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Frankfort on March 8, 1932, a daughter of the late Joel Woodson and Mary Susan Hulker Ballinger. A graduate of the Nazareth School of Nursing, Mayme was a nurse at Central Baptist Hospital and retired after many years from Good Samaritan Hospital where she helped deliver hundreds of babies over the years. She was recognized many times out and about Lexington where people remembered her delivering their children. Mayme was also a faithful member of Rosemont Baptist Church and loved to travel. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. Mayme’s wishes were to express her great love for all the mothers and babies she cared for while being a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. She is survived by: her son, Ray (Maryann) Northcutt of Lilburn, GA; three grandchildren, Michelle Lee (Drew) Chism, Daniel Edward (Melissa) Prater, and Michael Raymond (Emily) Northcutt; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Chism, and Greyson Chism; a son-in-law, Clarence Prater of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lee Prater, and her siblings. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Rosemont Baptist Church by Bro. Eddie Benton. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, January 14th at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Rd. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
