James Parks Gravitt
Funeral Time: Monday, January 18th at 2:30PM
James Parks “Peanut” Gravitt, age 78 of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Pine Meadows Health Care. He was born April 26, 1942 in Georgetown, KY, a son of the late Francis and Hazel McKee Gravitt. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, James was a retired window glazer. He loved fishing, playing golf, and shooting guns. He will be remembered for his big heart and his easy going personality. He is survived by: a sister, Jessie Ritchey, and her family; three nieces, Janet Snapp, Kayla Newton, and Carla Ritchey; a nephew, Kyle Snapp; cousins, Jimmy McKee, Nancy Wong, and Wally McKee; daughter-in-law, Brandy and her family; Mike Flynn and his family; Connie and Chris Barett; and all the Hooters Girls. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: his son, Frankie, who was his pride and joy; his brother, Frankie Gravitt; and grandparents, Silas and Sophie McKee. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 18 at 2:30 PM at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road, officiated by Minister Ronnie Hupp. Pall bearers will be Zack Newton, Kyle Snapp, Frank Snapp, David Prather, Ricky Coke, and Zach Lane. The honorary pall bearer will be James’ good friend, Will (also known as Snipper). Visitation will be Monday at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
