Funeral Time: Saturday, November 23rd at 11:30AM
Sharon Thompson, 85, passed on November 12th, peacefully in her home. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Thompson, two wonderful children, Diane Wilk and Alan Thompson, and her beloved six grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was born in Chicago, IL where she was raised with her father, Harold Kordisch, mother, Eleanor Kordisch and twin brother, Neal Kordisch. She wed Bill in 1954 and shortly moved to Los Angeles afterwards, where they raised their two children and spent 28 sunny years, before eventually retiring to Lexington, KY in 1990. Sharon had an exuberance for life, enjoying many activities from playing tennis, to adorning her yard with an array of colorful flowers, to visiting scenic parks around the country with her family. Appreciating music tremendously, she attended many local concerts and performances, and was often humming the tunes of her favorite musicals. A true woman of service, she was often involved in charity work with her church, as well as programs for children in need all over the world. Above all she was happiest when hosting get-togethers with her many friends and family, grinning and laughing cheerily alongside them. Her memorial service will be held at St. Raphael Episcopal Church on November 23rd at 11:30am, with a celebration of life to follow afterwards.
