Billy Ray Manies
Funeral Time: Friday, August 10th at 12:00PM
On Tuesday, August 7, 2018, Billy Ray Manies passed away at the age of 72. Bill was born January 29, 1946. He was the son of the late John and Christine Manies. Survivors are his wife Becky Manies; three children, John (Lezley) Manies, Tony Manies (Leslie), and Cherri (Ronnie) Day; five grandchildren Courtney Manies, Anthony Warf, Avery Warf, Bethany Manies, and Kaylee Manies; one great grandchild Audrey Rose; three sisters, Betty Ritchey, Barbara Kidwell, and Janie Johnson; and a host of special friends and family. He was preceded in death by one brother, Louie Manies.
Billy was a roofer for 64 years and he was one of the oldest working roofers in Lexington, if not, the oldest. He was the owner of Billy Manies Independent Roofing since 1974 and BMR since 2000. There is not a street in this town that Billy has not done a roof. This whole town has Billy's work everywhere. He was a master of his craft. He was on a roof until the end. Family was his life outside of roofing. He cherished his wife and children like no other and it showed through everyone with whom he came in contact. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Billy will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be 12pm Friday afternoon at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home- Main St. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10am until 12pm Friday at the funeral home.
