Anna May “Ann” Kennedy, 103, died peacefully at the Willows at Fritz Farm on June 11, 2018, Lexington, KY. She was born in Davis County, IA, April 5, 1915. Mrs. Kennedy was predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty-three years, Martin L. Kennedy, Jr., and her beloved son, Martin (Marty) Kennedy III. In 1946 she moved to Kentucky with her family to open a family business, Blue Grass Butane Co. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lexington, KY since 1947 and served in many capacities. She was a devout Christian. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Kennedy King of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Jo Kennedy; two grandsons, Scott (Papia) Ferguson, Douglas (Gina) Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Cooper Kennedy of Tennessee, and Amber Ellis and sons, Landon and Bentley of Kentucky. Other survivors include a sister, Phyllis Williams of Lexington, KY; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services entrusted to Kerr Bros. E Main Street, Lexington. Visitation will be 9:30-11:30am Saturday, June 16, followed immediately by a graveside service at Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kentucky Methodist Home for Children, 1115 Ashgrove Rd. Nicholasville, KY 40356.
