Vicki Lynn Hughes
Vicki Lynn Hughes, age 58, of Toledo passed away Monday, June 11, 2018. The daughter of Robert and Lola, she was born August 7,1959 in Pikeville, KY. She was raised in Danville, KY later moving to Toledo where she resided for over 34 years. Shortly after moving to Toledo, She began working at St. Luke's Hospital as an administrative assistant in the maintenance department. She married Mark Hughes on October 6, 2001. Vicki enjoyed cooking and baking southern style cuisine, always making too much for her and Mark and gladly shared the extra with friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed knitting. Vicki suffered from a couple illnesses that were quite debilitating yet she was a very happy, caring and loving person. She was generous with her time, assisting and caring for several of her elderly neighbors. During her illness, she became active with a social media group of Maltese owners and later joined other sites and develop many friendships over the years. She was a dedicated wife and daughter. Vicki cared for her husband tirelessly, she will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark; mother, Lola (Denny) Molnar; father Robert Charles; brothers, Phillip (Cookie) and David (Sharon) Charles; nieces, Ellerie and Emily Hughes and her faithful companion, Isabella "Izzy", a Maltese who was always at her side.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd) where a memorial service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also visit the family on Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home 3421 Harrodsburg Rd Lexington, KY 40513 where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Memorials in Vicki's memory may be made to The American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Association, INC., Epstein-Barr Virus Research or a charity of the donor's choice.
