Elmer C. "Elmo" Davis

Elmer C. “Elmo” Davis, 86, widower of Beatrice Smoot Davis, died May 13, 2018 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born Oct. 23, 1931 in Carlisle, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elmer Otis and Lillian Mann Davis. Mr. Davis was a U. S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War, and had been employed as a butcher. Survivors include Barbara Ann (Norman) Watkins, Carlisle, KY, Elmer Ray (Patricia) Davis, Winchester, KY, David Wesley (Diana) Davis, North Carolina, Lorraine Joyce Davis, Virgil Dallas (Georgeanna) Davis, Rebecca Viola “Becky” Stone, and Jeffrey Allen (Pamela) Davis, all of Lexington, KY and Wavaline “Teresa” (Jeff) Evans, Winchester, KY; 25 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Jena Bretz and Birtie Davis; and one brother, Jerry Davis. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Watkins, Jewell Bussell, Ruth Spiegel, and Bettie Jane Davis; and two brothers, Charles Davis and Frankie Davis. Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Thurs., May 17, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Entombment will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9 am Thurs. until the time of service at the funeral home.
