Billy Ray WALLS, Sr., 84, husband of Glenda Stokley Walls, died May 18, 2017 at the VA Medical Center. Born Jan. 16, 1933 in Lebanon, KY, he was the son of the late Omar and Lucy Bright Walls. Mr. Walls was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War, received his Associate Degree from Xavier University, and retired as a Project Manager from IBM. He was a member of Southern Heights Baptist Church, the Lexington Lionís Club, and the VFW Post in Frankfort, KY. Mr. Walls was also a tax preparation volunteer for AARP. Survivors other than his wife include four sons, Billy Ray (Linda) Walls, II, Lockhart, TX, Doug (Sheri) Walls, Charleston, SC, Jeffrey (Jessica) Browning, Stanton, KY, and Craig Browning, Lexington, KY; one daughter, Luanne (Larry) Walter, Greenwood, IN; eleven grandchildren, Kelly (Justin) Williams, Tuscon, AZ, Lauren Walls, San Antonio, TX, Chris (Kristin) Walls, Fischers, IN, Brandi (Blake) Combs, West Palm Beach, FL, Doug Walls, II, Charleston, SC, Blake Waller and Clay (Ellen) Waller, both of Lexington, KY, Kyle Murphy, Oak Creek, WI, Rainey (Nate) Landry, Anchorage, AL, and Jagger and Jayce Browning, Stanton, KY; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Jo Walls; two grandchildren, Billy Ray Walls III and David Harmon; one sister, Irene Wright; two brothers, Bobby Walls and Melvin David Walls; and brother in law Donnie Stokley. Funeral services will be held 6 pm Mon, May 22 at Southern Heights Baptist Church, 3408 Clays Mill Rd., Lexington, KY 40503 by Rev. Bill Boldt with visitation from 4pm-6pm Mon. at the church. Burial will take place 11 am Tues., May 23 in the Stokley Family Cemetery in Clay City, KY with the grandsons as pallbearers. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. in charge of arrangements.
